This relaxed four-day walk on the Goldfields track around Daylesford, Hepburn Springs and Castlemaine, includes great walking on well-maintained trails and many other activities which the region is most famous for. It is an easy walk for people with a reasonable level of fitness.

On this tour, you will spend time at the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa to soothe your muscles, enjoy a morning tea stop at the Chocolate Mill, visit the historic Red Beard Bakery and taste some local cider.

Our primary venue is a gorgeous purpose-built accommodation in the heart of Daylesford. You will enjoy daily walks with light day packs only, each day returning to our accommodation.

Tour inclusions:

  • Small group (10 or less), day-pack only walking tour with magnificent walks and sightseeing.
  • Daily guided walks curated to immerse you in the region’s unique landscape, flora and fauna, highlights including evening bathing at the iconic Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa.
  • Two talented, experienced, accredited and safety gear equipped guides to drive, care and cook for you throughout the tour.
  • Return transport ex-Melbourne, and all tour transfers in our comfortable 12-seater mini-coach with luggage trailer.
  • 3 nights comfortable twin-share accommodation (limited single supplements at additional cost), with ensuites if available and sustainably provided.
  • 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 2 two-course dinners, plus trail mix, nibbles, fresh fruit, snacks, tea and coffee, biscuits / cake and non-alcoholic drinks throughout.
  • We also include morning tea at historic Red Beard Bakery, visit to the Convent Gallery and the Chocolate Mill and tastings of cider at Daylesford Cider House.
  • All National Park entry fees.

Note: Due to severe storms and flooding in late 2022, it has been necessary to amend parts of our tour as some tracks were heavily damaged. We are in regular contact with Parks Victoria as they work to re-open impacted areas. In the meantime, please note our itinerary has been changed and some new walks have been incorporated to maintain a similar, but varied and enjoyable outdoor experience. Please see trip notes here.
